connatural environmental intervention

The work "connatural" was realized in Southeast Sweden in summer 2018. It is an intervention in a forest near the coastline. Typical houseplants that are available around the globe were planted on the site. Self made kinetic machines that imitate the bird sounds of woodpeckers and cuckoos were mounted in the trees. This weird combination, where the flora of private spaces is mixed with the sounds of artificial birds and the local vegetation, raises questions about how we define nature and how we perceive our environment.
